MY CREATIVE PROCESS
Portraiture also occupies an important place in my artistic practice. I often create abstracted representations based on gesture, intuition, and an unconventional color palette. I am interested in the balance between the recognizability of the figure and the freedom of form and painterly expression. I work with both acrylic and oil paints, and beyond traditional painting supports – linen and cotton canvases – I often explore unconventional surfaces such as cardboard or wood.
In portrait drawing, I usually create quick sketches using pencil, charcoal, colored pencils, or oil pastels. I value their simplicity, gestural quality, and fleeting nature, as well as the unpredictability and lightness of form.
This approach gives me great freedom and joy, allowing for a direct, intuitive engagement with both the material and the emotion of the moment.
